Beyond the Threshold is a two-piece collection about crossing from reality into the subconscious, where every open door leads to an emotional truth.
The Blue Elephant and Escapism are created as two connected works, each reflecting a different moment within the same inner journey. Together, they explore the desire to step beyond the familiar—to move between what is real and what is imagined, and to find freedom in the spaces that exist beyond the visible.
Concept
The elephant has long symbolized wisdom, memory, and inner strength. In The Blue Elephant, these qualities are transformed into a surreal guardian of the subconscious. The blue elephant stands as a quiet force, while the woman dances fearlessly beside it, representing the harmony between vulnerability and courage. Behind them, an open door and a leafless tree symbolize leaving behind what no longer grows in order to embrace transformation. The dreamlike blue tones soften the elephant’s immense presence, suggesting that our greatest strength is not something to fear, but something to walk beside. The painting celebrates the moment we stop resisting ourselves and begin moving forward with confidence.
